SunSystems 5.4 is the first version integrated in the Open Infor Service Orientated Approach. Included In the initial delivery is the integration with Infor components such as advanced GL , My day, Decisions. These products give users access to information, KPI, reports in a user friendly interface web2.0 interface and also provide data aggregation functions as well as powerful drill-down facility and customisation options.
Master Data components are also included in this release: this facility to control centrally static data is likely to offer substantial benefits to companies maintaining common chart of accounts\analysis\ products for all their business units.
The open SOA approach design which opens Sunsystems to other Infor products and allows efficient third party applications integration, is an interesting development for our clients. It is certainly consistent with our best of breeds implementation approach which aims at providing clients with flexible solutions comprised of the best product in the market to meet particular requirements.
Note that the SOA framework is not limited to the version 5 product line. Future releases of version 4 will also be SOA enabled.
